For liquids, the label will tell you how many milligrams are found in 1 teaspoon, 1.25 ml or 5 ml. For example, the label can be 100 mg/liter teaspoon, 50 mg/1.25 mL or 100 mg/5 ml.
For syrup, you need some type of dose syringe. You may be offered medication or you can ask your pharmacist. Clean up after each use.
