International Energy Agency Cuts Global Oil Demand Growth Forecast

2019-05-16
The Paris-based International Energy Agency released a monthly crude oil market report on the 15th, which lowered the global average oil demand growth forecast for 2019 by 90,000 barrels to 1.3 million barrels.
The report predicts that global oil demand will reach 10 billion barrels per day on average in 2019.
The report said that the current US sanctions against Iran and Venezuela, the situation in Libya, and the pollution of Russia's oil pipelines to Europe have caused great uncertainty in global crude oil supply.
According to the report, global oil supply fell by an average of 300,000 barrels per day in April to 99.3 million barrels. Among them, Canada, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Iran have the largest declines in supply.
