Phosphate Market in China
2019-05-19
According to industry media reports, the price of phosphate rock in Guizhou Province rose sharply last week. The price of phosphates (including tax) of Grade 29 and Grade 30 in Guizhou Province increased by 80 yuan to 470 yuan / ton and 500 yuan / ton respectively. The tax rate for the cat card has increased by 80 yuan to 570 yuan per ton, and the new price was implemented on December 5.
In terms of inventory, phosphate deposits have continued to decline since 2017 and have fallen to historically low levels by the end of 2017. Although phosphate rock stocks rebounded at the beginning of this year, the decline in phosphate rock production in the first half of the year led to a sharp decline in inventories. After entering the fourth quarter, phosphate rock stocks continued to decline.
After entering November, the downstream phosphate fertilizer market entered the traditional winter fertilizer season, and the subsequent demand for phosphate rock is about to open. At the same time, due to factors such as climate cooling and environmental protection, some mines in Hubei and Guizhou will face production stoppage. The agency expects that there will be a gap in domestic phosphate mine supply in the fourth quarter, and phosphate rock prices are expected to continue to rise.
